2018 Year Of Giving
Oh, how I enjoy sitting around the holiday tree opening gifts with my big extended family. As the kids (now in their 20’s and 30’s) grow older, I marvel as more and more presents are gifts to charities, instead of coveted items. Just like family, Home Oregon Coast is a caring Team working together for the success of our clients and community. Let’s look back at some of our charitable contributions and community efforts in 2018.
One of Home Oregon Coast’s favorite modes of giving back includes our wonderful clients. As a closing gift Team Home Oregon Coast offers each client a gift donation to the non-profit of their choice. Thousands of dollars were donated in 2018 to various non-profits organizations:
Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County
ASPCA American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
Family Promise of Lincoln County
Warming Shelter Lincoln City
HELP Program (Homeless Education & Literacy Project)
Olalla Center for Children & Families
Wounded Warrior Project
Auctions are also a great way to help out the local community. In 2018 we donated incredible gift baskets full of services and goodies with values up to $5000. each! Home Oregon Coast was pleased to contribute to the Chamber of Commerce Super Auction and Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County’s Annual Auction.
Every year we also enjoy sponsoring a very hands-on fundraiser event put on by the Taft High School Culinary Program. This major fundraiser for the students is always lots of work, great fun, and very rewarding. The Taft High School students are in charge of executing the fundraiser with our guidance. We took great joy in helping them create a major dinner for up to 100 people! 2018's event had a little Irish luck was on our side, as the students planned, cooked and served up a traditional Saint Patrick’s Day feast! The supportive community had a blast and the successful event raised $1000. for the student programs.
2018 was a phenomenal year for Team Home Oregon Coast, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our amazing community. We look forward to an incredible 2019 with many new opportunities for giving back.
